Confirm a reservation

Moves a reservation from quote, pending or pending-reserved to open. Any other status returns a business error. Requires the role permission Can put Reservations on paid/open.

Before confirming, the vehicle class availability for the reservation dates is checked again, unless availability checks on date changes for open reservations are disabled in your settings.

Side effects

Fires the created and car_rental_reservation_status_updated webhooks.

Confirms the linked package reservation, if any.

Assigns the primary and return agents automatically when automatic agent assignment is enabled.

Sends the confirmation email to the customer when the confirmation email is set to be sent only for open bookings.

For website bookings, sends the internal new website booking email to the pick-up location (or branch) if it was not sent before.

Returns data.reservation, the updated reservation record.

The reservation is now open, or a business error with success: false when the current status does not allow it or the vehicle class is no longer available. The error message lists more source statuses than are accepted; only quote, pending and pending-reserved can be confirmed. HTTP 200 is also used for failures: always check success. When it is false, the body is an ErrorBusinessRule (status_code 410) or an ErrorUnauthorized (status_code 401 or 403).
