Guide: sync your fleet and prices to a website

Use this guide to show your branches, locations, vehicle classes, extras and prices on your own website or app, and to keep them up to date.
Call the API from your server and serve the data from there; never expose the token (see Authentication).

Rates come in pages (see Responses and pagination).
The other lists come in one response, except seasons when you send paginate=1.

Step 1 - Branches and locations

GET /fleets/brands returns every branch under fleets_brands, including inactive ones.
Skip the branches whose inactive is true.

GET /fleets/locations returns only active locations, with their address, latitude, longitude, open_hours, timezone, label_for_website and custom fields.
Send brand_id for the locations of one branch, and filter on show_on_website to get only the locations you show online:

Step 2 - Vehicle classes

Only active classes of active branches are returned.

only_available_on_website=1 leaves out the classes that are hidden from your website.

minified_response=1 returns a shape made for websites, in the standard envelope under data, including id, uuid, name, label_for_website, short_description_for_website, description_for_website, public_image_link, images, features, the distance limits, activeRates and the custom fields of the class.
Without it, the full records are returned under fleets_vehicle_classes, or [] when there are none.

vehicle_classes=1,2,3 and features=4,7 narrow the list to those classes, or to the classes that have one of those features.

The public_link of each image is a public URL, so you can show the images or copy them to your own storage.

Step 3 - Extras and insurance

GET /fleets/additional-charges returns the additional charges that are not hidden from reservations, with their images.
Inactive charges are included, so check inactive.
Use this list for descriptions on your pages.
The price of an extra for a booking depends on the dates, class and location, so take it from the booking flow (GET /car-rental/reservations/additional-charges).

Step 4 - Prices

You have two ways to show prices.

Ask HQ for the price of a sample rental (recommended).
GET /car-rental/ota/availability with the header Accept: application/vnd.api.v2+json prices every active class shown on your website for the dates and locations you send, with the same price calculation as a booking:

Once a day, run it for a typical rental per location, for example three days starting next week, and store total_price_with_mandatory_charges_and_taxes of each class as its "from" price.
Classes that have no rate for those dates are left out of the response.

Read the rates and compute prices yourself.
activeRates in the minified vehicle classes response holds each class's public rates for the seasons that include today.
For full price grids, read seasons and rates.
Rates do not include extras, taxes, fees or discounts, so a computed price can differ from the price of a booking.

Step 5 - Availability

GET /car-rental/availability returns, for every class marked to show on your website, how many units are free between start_date and end_date (both YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm, in UTC):

Each item has the vehicle_class, the dates and available_quantity.quantity.
Inactive classes are included, so keep only the classes from step 2.
To book, always run the booking flow, which checks availability again when the reservation is created.

Step 6 - Keep it fresh

Run a full sync once a day.

Every few minutes, read only what changed: vehicle classes, seasons, rate types and rates accept updated_since (UTC, YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss, see Filtering and incremental sync).

Branches, locations, additional charges and features do not accept updated_since; reload them, they are short lists.

To react at once, ask your HQ administrator to add webhooks for Vehicle Class, Location, Additional Charge, Season and Rate (see Webhooks), and keep the periodic sync for anything a webhook missed.
